Ixchel's Most Recent Album: "FULL SPECTRUM MEDICINE"
With deep reverence and gratitude, I offer you my heart and soul's prayer.
This album is a transmission of the personal journey I experienced in its creation. It truly is the "Full Spectrum" representation of my personal and this collective human experience.
|
Some of these songs were written in the midst of loss and despair, others in the peaks of ecstasy and breakthrough. Others are the deepest prayers for what I wish too see come to fruition. In all cases I have done my best to allow my highest self and Creator to speak through me, and to be a pure channel for the healing medicine that moves through all things… My prayer is that you may submerge yourself into this journey, riding the waves, allowing yourself to feel and witness whatever may arise in you, and receive the healing and inspiration you deserve. I dedicate this album to the Divine Mother. To this beautiful Earth garden we exist in. To the sacred healing teacher plants, our elders, our ancestors, and our children… To the Warriors of the Rainbow, and to our bright, colorful, abundant, thriving future... COLLABORATIONS
Liquid Bloom: "HEART OF THE SHAMANS"
"Heart of the Shamans was conceived as a sonic prayer, a lovingly-crafted ritual transport into the heart of the universe. A voyage through
the energy centers of the body, this music is designed to support ceremonial trance states of awakening..."
|
Weaving powerful voices and instrumentation from around the world into a
layered, multi-dimensional sonic tapestry resonant with ancestral
depths, the music is inspired by such diverse sources as indigenous
ceremonial dances of New Mexico’s deserts and pueblos, and sacred
traditional ayahuasca invocations from Amazonian rainforest cultures.
The album’s liner notes offer guidance for participatory, immersive listening. A succession of mudras – traditional hand gestures from India believed to provide physical points of reference and increase energy flow throughout the body – are also suggested to enhance the participant’s experience, each specific to one of the album’s six major compositions. Also included are two bonus remixes, of songs from Liquid Bloom’s debut album, Shaman’s Eye, which were created specifically for trance journeying. Their multi-layered currents of sound and chanting have been freshly remixed to embrace Ixchel Prisma’s sacred medicine songs. Heart of the Shamans CD by Liquid Bloom with Amani Friend and Rara Avis, Robert Mirabal, and vocalists Ixchel Prisma and Sarah West, offers shamanic music with global rhythms, nature sounds and evocative vocals for healing music and yoga instrumental music. Desert Dwellers: "Dive into Forever"-EP
Showcasing their versatility as sound designers, Desert Dwellers have significantly adapted and developed their production value to best suit and complement the voice that shines throughout.
|
Desert Trax is proud to present the newest sonic offering from Desert Dwellers, "Dive Into Forever." Amani Friend and Treavor Moontribe are unleashing another set of groundbreaking tracks on this EP. This time they have collaborated with the soulful songstress Ixchel Prisma, who added a major component to the overall enchantment of these tunes. Together they have seamlessly interwoven Ixchel's spacious lyrics within the forward moving psychedelic atmospheres of the desert.
The first song, "Dive Into the Core", is overflowing with meditative modulations and a palpable poetic presence. Greatly influenced by the work of Phaeleh, the track begins with a gentle whisper that invokes the feeling of a lullaby. As it progresses, spacious synthesizers and a proliferation of pads filter in and out, providing a blissful background for Ixchel's verses and catchy choruses. "Dive Into the Core" is a very archetypal composition that will garner affection and adoration for its lovely lyrics and script, edifying the mystical nature of musical mythos, and the rebirth symbolism of the phoenix rising from the ashes. Harken back to the origin of Desert Dwellers and hear reborn the second song on this EP, which is a revamped rendition of one of their oldest and most beloved manifestations, "You Can See Forever." The hypnotic dance vibe of this version of the tune will most certainly captivate any listener. The instrumentation and vibe is a lot more psychedelic compared to "Dive into the Core," featuring a heavy dose of delayed FX, ethnic woodwinds and incredible incantations. When listening, It's pretty hard to not imagine yourself wandering the desert with an endless moonlit horizon in front of you.
